How to Download and Install a Quad Cortex Preset with Cortex Cloud

Before you begin

• Connect the Quad Cortex to Wi-Fi and sign in to your Neural DSP account.
• Install the current Cortex Cloud mobile app and use the same account.
• Know your exact Cortex Cloud username; this is how another user finds your profile.
• Update CorOS when practical, but back up important work before any system update.

Receive a shared preset

1. Send the seller or creator your exact Cortex Cloud username.
2. Open Cortex Cloud and accept or return the follow request if the delivery process requires a connection.
3. Open the creator’s profile or your shared items and locate the purchased preset.
4. Add the preset to your downloads in Cortex Cloud.
5. On the Quad Cortex, open the Directory and check the Downloads area for downloaded Cloud presets.
6. Load the preset, audition every scene, and save a copy into your preferred setlist before editing it.

Organize it for a live set

Keep the untouched download as a reference and edit a duplicate. Rename the working copy for the song or set, then place it in a setlist in performance order. Consistent scene names and switch positions reduce mistakes under stage lighting.

If you adapt the preset for a different guitar, make small input, gain, and EQ changes before changing the entire signal chain. Output systems also matter: studio monitors, headphones, an FRFR cabinet, and a venue PA can make the same preset feel different.

What to check when a preset is missing

• Confirm that the Quad Cortex and mobile app are signed into the same account.
• Verify the username character by character, including punctuation.
• Refresh Cortex Cloud and confirm that the preset was actually added to downloads.
• Reconnect Wi-Fi and reopen the Directory on the hardware.
• Check that your CorOS version supports the blocks used by the preset.
• Ask the sender to confirm the share and include your order email when contacting support.

Back up before you customize

Preserve a clean copy before changing assignments, scenes, or routing. Cortex Cloud is useful for keeping downloadable copies, while setlists keep the working versions organized on the unit. A simple original-versus-live-copy habit makes it easy to undo an experiment without rebuilding the preset.
